Mr. A. J. Muhammed,mda, was born in Mayo-Belwa in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Nigeria, on the 12th day of August, 1955.
He attended Senior Primary School, Mayo-Belwa, in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1967. He proceeded to Government Secondary School, Danbatta, Kano State, and obtained his WASC/GCE O’ level in 1972. He was admitted into the then Kano State College of Advanced Studies and obtained his IJMB/Advanced Level Certificate in 1976. On completion, he secured admission into the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and obtained his LL.B (Hons) in 1980. Thereafter he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from the same University in 1991 and a Masters Degree in Policy Studies from the Bayaro University, Kano, in 2001. Furthermore, he obtained the Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Development Administration with specialization in Monitoring and Evaluation from the University of Ibadan, in 2007.
Mr. Muhammed attended many developmental courses both within and outside Nigeria viz: ZTE University, Shenzhen, China in 2006, Sida Programme in Sweden, 2007, BEEC International, Ghana, 2008.
Mr. Muhammed joined the Federal Civil Service in 1991 as an Assistant Chief Personnel Officer. Thus, through hard work, dedication and loyalty to his fatherland, he succeeded to ‘right the wrong’ in his career. A versatile and committed civil servant, he has served in various ministries, departments and agencies of the Federal Government as Director of Planning, Research and Statistics in Federal Ministries of Health, Defence, Commerce & Industry and Power. Deputy Director in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Assistant Director, Federal Ministry of Environment, Interior and Communication, etc. Erudite, strategist, planner and an astute policy administrator, Mr. Muhammed is currently the Director of Administration in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation in Abuja, thus emerging as a formidable force in the Service. No doubt, honour must be given to whom honour is due. In every field he served the Country he excelled. Those who have met him would readily agree that he is a transparent leader, a leader who tells the truth and makes someone bitter (instead of telling a lie to make someone smile). Just as Sun Tzu said in ‘The Art of War, “If you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles”. Little wonder, therefore, that Mr. Muhammed is a beacon in the Federal Civil Service. Mr. Muhammed has travelled widely across the globe including Saudi-Arabia, Cameroon Republic, Ghana, Kenya, Ethopia, Egypt, Dubai, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, UK, China, Hongkong and Germany.
Mr. Muhammed is married with many children.
